Our take
My 10-year-old has been using the PowerBilt Lil Slugger set and it's been great for his progression. The graphite shafts with youth flex are forgiving, and the hybrid is particularly easy to hit. The set includes a wedge, which is useful for chipping. At $139, it's a solid value for a name brand. The only issue is the California Prop 65 warning about lead—not ideal, but common for some golf equipment. The clubs are well-suited for ages 8-12, but my taller 12-year-old found them slightly short.
